Organizers of the Calgary Marathon are giving runners a first look at the designs they’ll be racing toward this year. The event has revealed its 2026 finisher medal and official race shirt — both featuring new designs meant to highlight the experience of crossing the finish line. This year’s medal showcases the distinctive teepee at Enmax Park, a structure many runners see as they complete the race and gather with friends and family afterward. “We have the teepee of Enmax Park kind of looming in the background, and it has just become an integral part of the finisher experience,” said Kirsten Fleming, CEO of Run Calgary. “People love to take their pictures, do their Medal Monday photos, and we wanted to honour that part of the experience.” The emblem is also meant to pay homage to the Treaty 7 First Nations that make up Alberta. As in previous years, the marathon finisher medal also doubles as a belt buckle, something organizers say has become a tradition many runners look forward to. The race also unveiled the official 2026 shirt, featuring the slogan “More Than Run.” Fleming says the phrase reflects the broader meaning running can hold for participants, whether they’re chasing a personal best, supporting a cause or simply taking their first steps into the sport. “The ‘More Than Run’ idea is something we’ve really leaned into over the past couple of years, and it’s resonated with people,” Fleming said. “For a lot of runners, it’s about much more than the race itself — it’s about community, personal goals and that first step that gets you started.” Organizers say the event is on pace for another record year for participation, with more than 15,000 already signed up. A new start area is being added to help accommodate the growing number of runners.
