Chestermere RCMP investigating after mutilated cat found along walking path

The Alberta SPCA is investigating after a kitten was found mutilated along a walking trail in Chestermere last weekend.

Officials say the cat, a six-week-old grey tabby, was abandoned in a garbage container in the area between West Creek Springs and West Creek Close on Saturday, June 13.

It’s believed the kitten was placed there between Friday morning and Saturday afternoon.

The incident is being investigated as an animal cruelty case by Chestermere RCMP.

Anyone with relevant information, photos or video related to the investigation is asked to call RCMP at 403-204-8777.

Those who wish to remain anonymous can submit tips through Crime Stoppers.
