City of Calgary lowers cat and dog adoption fees for November

The City of Calgary is reducing animal adoption fees for the month of November.

The decrease brings the fee to adopt a cat down to $85 from $170, and the fee to adopt a dog to $100 from $225.

“We hope this price reduction encourages more Calgarians to come meet the incredible pets waiting for homes,” said Kathleen Dickson, coordinator of animal care and clinic services, in a Monday news release. “Every adoption gives an animal a second chance and opens space in our shelter for others who need help.”

All animals adopted from the city are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, health-checked and include a one-year pet license.

To visit with the city’s adoptable cats and dogs, you can head to the Animal Services Centre (2201 Portland St. S.E.) seven days a week – or visit them virtually through calgary.ca/adoptapet.
