Alberta Mounties have arrested a man who they say made a series of threats against a woman and her daughter earlier this month. On Sept. 10, Cochrane RCMP were told about a woman and her daughter who had been confronted by a man after leaving a local fast-food restaurant. Police say the man threatened the pair and “the incident generated significant public attention and discussion on social media.” The nature of the threats was not released by police, but officers identified and arrested the suspect. Cochrane RCMP say the individual was given access to supports and released on an undertaking. While he is expected to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on Oct. 10, RCMP did not say what charges were laid. Officials say the accused no longer lives in the town.
