CTrain station to be demolished

Published:

The city will be demolishing an old CTrain station along 7 Ave. and will be building a new station to accommodate for new four-car trains.

The new station will be built at 11 Street S.W., called Downtown West-Kerby, in front of the Kerby Centre.

In a release, officials say the station is expected to be open by March 2013.

The 10 Street will be closed and demolished so that track re-alignment can be completed and sidewalks and other finishing work can be built.

Commuters can access the CTrain at the 8 Street station.

The last stop heading downtown will now be the 7 Street station.

Both stations are within walking distance of the old 10 Street station.
