Temperatures heading way up for the weekend. Jodi Hughes has a look at the five-day forecast from the Sky Watch Weather Centre.

Temperatures early Wednesday were mild across the region, sitting close to the freezing mark for most of southern Alberta.

As expected, a low pressure system from the Pacific basin moved in to southern British Columbia Tuesday and brought snow through the interior, as well as over the Rockies, with some lingering flurries populating along the foothills early Wednesday.

That snow will taper off throughout the day with areas closer to the QEII – including Calgary – unlikely to be impacted.

Tuesday brought more melting across Calgary, with more melting expected over the next few days under sunnier conditions and daytime highs that will range from 10 C to 14 C over the weekend and overnight values that will be closer to our average daytime high of 2 C.
