Calgary police are encouraging anyone with dash-cam video to come forward after a child was hit by a vehicle earlier this week.

The incident happened at an intersection outside Our Lady of Peace School, located at 14826 Millrise Hill S.W., at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Police say the victim, a nine-year-old boy, was crossing Millrise Drive S.W. in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a black 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe travelling east along Millrise Hill S.W.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries

Police say the driver, a woman in her 40s, remained at the scene. She was not injured, and police don’t believe alcohol, distraction or excessive speed were factors in the incident.

Anyone with dash-cam footage or CCTV from the area at the time is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
