‘Deeply missed’: Family concerned about missing woman last seen in Calgary

Calgary police are hoping the public can help them in their search for a woman missing for more than a month.

Police say Leslie Shingoose was in town visiting family for the holidays, but didn’t return to her family’s home after an outing.

She was last seen on the Reconciliation Bridge just before midnight on Thursday, Jan. 2.

“[Shingoose] is deeply missed by her family and police are concerned for her well-being,” police said in a Tuesday news release.

“It’s unusual and uncharacteristic for Leslie to be away from her family for this long or this period of time,” explained Const. Hady Hammoud in an interview with CTV News.

“Leslie’s a very cared-for person, she comes from a very caring home.”

Shingoose is described as 5’4” tall (162 centimetres) with a slim build, black shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.

When she was last seen, she was wearing a dark-grey jacket, black pants and white running shoes.
