Police in Sundre, Alta., are investigating after NDP election signs were vandalized in and around the town this week.

RCMP said they received several reports of damage to election signs, including “spray painting and discriminatory slurs,” between April 9-11.

“Damaging or stealing a candidate election sign is a criminal offence,” RCMP said in a Friday news release.

“Additionally, hate- or bias-motivated crimes could result in higher penalties during sentencing.”

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Sundre RCMP at 403-638-3655.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com and through the P3 Tips app.

Sundre is located approximately 115 kilometres northwest of Calgary.
