E. Jean Carroll’s new book chronicles trials against Trump

Writer E. Jean Carroll has yet to see a penny of the $83 million judgement that U.S. President Donald Trump owes her.

“Don’t worry, I will get the money and then I’m going to be giving it to everything Donald Trump hates,” Carroll told CTV News.

In 2023, a jury in New York found Trump liable of sexually assaulting Carroll in a dressing room in the Bergdorf Goodman department store in Manhattan in the mid-1990s.

After Trump insulted Carroll after the trial, the two legal combatants went to trial again, with Carroll winning a second time.

“One old lady with a genius attorney beat Donald Trump – twice. It can be done, and if I can do it, anybody can do it,” Carroll said.

The former Elle magazine advice columnist has channeled her anger and her experience into a new book – Not My Type: One Woman vs. A President.

She’s in Calgary November 7^th for a Wordfest event.

“I love Calgary!” she said, “I went to one of my first rodeos when I was a child in Calgary. So, it’s always been a part of my beating heart.”
