Five Calgary restaurants make list of best brunch, lunch spots in Canada

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, OpenTable has released its list of the 100 Top Brunch and Lunch Restaurants in Canada for 2025, in case you hope to celebrate the day with a meal out.

“Mother’s Day is one of the biggest dining occasions of the year,” said Matt Davis, OpenTable Canada spokesperson, in a Tuesday news release.

“With our top list, we aim to help diners discover and secure the perfect spot to celebrate mom in style.”

The list, released on Tuesday, draws upon information from more than 950,000 verified OpenTable restaurant reviews and dining metrics that included brunch reviews and Sunday lunch availability, from March. 1, 2024 to Feb. 28, 2025.

This year, five Calgary restaurants made the list, including:

• Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant;
• Deane House;
• Porch;
• River Café; and
• Ten Foot Henry.

In total, Alberta had 14 brunch and lunch spots that made the cut, including three in Edmonton, three in Banff, Bridgette Bar in Canmore and Heartland Café in Okotoks.

Ontario had 56 restaurants featured on the list, B.C. had 17 and Quebec had 10.

Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Nova Scotia each had one.
