Candidates across southern Alberta are gearing up for their final push before election day.
That includes the Foothills riding.
Foothills is a large riding that stretches north up to Calgary, and all the way down to the American border.
It covers more than 20,000 square kilometres.
It was first used as a riding in the 2015 election.
It’s been won by the Conservatives in every election since.
Conservative candidate John Barlow is looking to win a fourth term as MP.
He’s the only MP the riding has ever had represent it.
Looking to unseat the Conservatives is the Liberals’ John Bruinsma.
He grew up on a farm in southern Alberta and has worked as an engineering technologist for 35 years.
The NDP will be represented by Kaitte Aurora.
After working at Lockheed Martin Canada for many years, Aurora now works in the not-for-profit sector.
Emma Hoberg, running for the Green Party, was born and raised in Okotoks.
She’s the western organizer for the party.

Rounding out the field is the People Party’s Paul O’Halloran.
He’s a founding member of the party and wants to give voters another option.
“I’ve gotten pretty good reception from people. People are open. People are really, like, head-fogged with our present political environment … the flip-flopping, the back-and-forth jockeying for the power, shall we say, the campaign promises all over the place,” O’Halloran said.
CTV News reached out to all the candidates but did not receive a comment in time from most of them.
Election day is April 28.
