Fourth youth charged in death of 16-year-old Calgary boy

Calgary police have announced more charges in the killing of a teenage boy.

Carter Spivak-Villeneuve, 16, died in the 300 block of Abergale Drive N.E. in the early morning hours on Friday, Aug. 1.

Three youth – all 15 years old – were charged in connection with the death last week.

Now, a fourth youth – who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act – is charged.

The 16-year-old boy faces a charge of first-degree murder, the same as the three youth charged prior.

“We know that no arrest can take away the pain that Carter’s family is experiencing,” said Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson. “Our thoughts remain with them as they continue to grieve.”
