A seniors’ community in Lethbridge is celebrating a major milestone.
The Green Acres Foundation is turning 65 years old.
As the foundation is now “old enough to be a senior itself,” staff held a birthday celebration on Friday afternoon.
Green Acres has more than 20 senior living communities in Lethbridge and the surrounding area to keep independent living closer to home.
“The world is changing now. … The family nucleus might not always have the kids right here and things like this, so we’re really proud of the fact that we can offer affordable housing with the services that people need, but they also become a part of a community,” said Dawna Coslovi, Green Acres Foundation CEO.

Coslovi says it became “abundantly clear” how important that sense of community and the interaction that comes with it was during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nearly 1,000 residents call Green Acres home.
