Calgarians and residents throughout southern Alberta will be hitting the polls next week to determine Canada’s next prime minister and government.
Canada’s 45th federal election will take place on Monday, April 28.
On election day, polls in the mountain time zone will be open between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

According to Elections Canada, peak voting times on election day are usually in the early morning and after 4 p.m. The 10 a.m. to noon period is generally a bit less busy, while the noon to 4 p.m. range is the least busy.
Some electoral district boundaries were reviewed and changed in 2022 to better reflect population data, so your riding may be different than in the 2021 federal election.
