The Hitmen fired on all cylinders Friday night, rallying from three goals down to rip a 6-5 overtime win from the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The scintillating victory was Calgary’s third straight, giving them a 3-2 lead in their second-round series, with Game 6 scheduled for Saturday night in Lethbridge.

For the second straight game, Ben Kindel scored in overtime to win it for the Hitmen.

It didn’t look too promising midway through the second, when the Hurricanes, on goals from Miquel Marques, Jordan Gustafson Brayden Yager and a pair from Logan Wormald jumped out to a commanding 5-2 lead.

The Hitmen got early goals from Carter Yakemchuk and Brandon Gorzynski and then three more from Connor Hvidston, Carson Wetsch and Oliver Tulk, who tied it at five with 6:22 remaining in regulation time.

That set the stage for Kindel, who scored at 6:09 of the first overtime to put the Hitmen one win from advancing.

Lethbridge outshot Calgary 31-28.

Game 6 goes at 7 p.m. Saturday night at VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

If Game 7 is necessary, it will be played Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Saddledome.
