A British Columbia man is facing charges after Lethbridge police seized methamphetamine and fentanyl from a vehicle stopped by officers on Monday.
According to a Tuesday news release, officers spotted what was believed to be drug trafficking happening in the 300 block of Fourth Street South, an area identified as an “emerging crime hot spot.”
Officers stopped a vehicle shortly after, taking the driver and a passenger into custody.
A search of the vehicle saw 25.5 grams of meth seized, as well as nearly seven grams of fentanyl – approximately 250 and 70 doses of the drugs, respectively.
A 41-year-old man from Courtenay, B.C., is facing three drug-related offences.
He was released from custody but is scheduled to appear in court on April 4.
The second person taken into custody was released without charges.
