High-risk incident on 5th Street South ends with woman taken into custody

Lethbridge police took a woman into custody Saturday afternoon, ending a high-risk incident.

The police originally issued a media release Saturday just before 1 p.m., saying that the incident was unfolding along the 300 block of Fifth Avenue south and that the public should avoid the area.

They issued an update shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday saying that the woman was in custody and the public could resume use of the area.
