Man arrested in connection with death of Adonai Tekle

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Adonai Tekle on Thursday.

Tekle, 24, died several days after he sustained a head injury during a fight that broke out at an after-hours party at a restaurant in the 2800 block of 17 Avenue S.E. on Monday.

Police said Tekle was trying to deescalate the situation when he was hit in the head.

On Saturday, Calgary Police said 24-year-old Calgarian Dawit Desta Yosief had been charged with manslaughter and taken into custody.

Yosief will remain in custody until his next court appearance on Tuesday.
