Man in custody following failed break-in, porch package theft and request for medical help

Calgary police say a particularly persistent suspect kept on going after a failed break-and-enter in the city’s southwest.

On Friday around noon, police say they were called to the 100 block of Millview Square S.W. after a homeowner warded off a man who broke a window to get inside.

Following the failed break-in, police say the suspect, now injured, fled.

It’s believed the suspect swiped a package left on the porch of a neighbouring home, then popped up again at a home in the 200 block of Millview Square S.W.

At the third residence, the suspect ended up asking the homeowner for medical help and the homeowner called 911.

Police say the suspect was treated for minor injuries and then arrested.

Charges are pending.

The owner of the second home got their package back, police say.
