Man in hospital following stabbing in downtown Calgary

A man was rushed to hospital Friday evening after police say he was stabbed in the back.

A man was rushed to hospital Friday evening after police say he was stabbed in the back.

Around 9 p.m., police say staff at the Tim Hortons coffee shop at 775 4th St. S.E. found the adult male in the bathroom.

He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

According to police, he underwent emergency surgery and remains in life-threatening condition.

Police are now searching for a suspect.

CCTV footage has officers looking for an adult male wearing a black hoodie with a white logo and writing on the back, grey pants and white shoes.

The suspect also had a black shoulder bag slung across his torso.
