The country’s best university and college curling teams are in Lethbridge this week for the CCAA championship.
While the city is no stranger to major curling events, it’s the first time Lethbridge has hosted the championship.
Thirty-two teams from across Canada are competing for the title.

Locally, the University of Lethbridge’s men’s and women’s teams are competing.
Those on the organizing committee say the championship is a chance to showcase curling at the post-secondary level.
“It’s a little more exposure to the game, especially the college and university,” said Dave Shannon, organizing committee co-chair.
“It kind of gets left to the wayside most of the time when people look at the big events like the Brier or Scotties, so this event is a really nice showing for these athletes.”
The championship continues with draws Friday at 7:30 p.m., with the medal games set for Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
