Roughnecks fade late as they lose to Saskatchewan Rush 16-13

The Calgary Roughnecks started a two-game weekend with a loss Friday, dropping a 16-13 decision to the Saskatchewan Rush.

The Roughnecks started out slowly, falling behind 2-0 but by halftime, had fought back to take an 8-6 lead.

Tyler Pace and Tanner Cook each scored twice, along with singles from Dane Dobbie, Curtis Dickson, Bennett Smith and Reece Callies to build a lead heading into the third quarter.

Smith scored his second of the night, but the Rush scored three of their own to tie it up heading into the fourth quarter.

That’s when the Rush took over the game, scoring six times while the Roughnecks got goals from Dickson, Dobbie and Jesse King.

The Roughnecks are back on WestJet Field Sunday to take on the Las Vegas Desert Dogs at the annual Pajama Party.

Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
