Snowfall warning issued for M.D. of Pincher Creek and Twin Butte: ECCC

A snowfall warning was issued Friday for the windiest place in Canada.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) posted the warning at 5 a.m. for the municipal district of Pincher Creek and Twin Butte.

“Heavy snow is expected tonight, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm,“ ECCC said.

“Snow will begin this evening. The heaviest snow is expected in areas near the British Columbia border.

“Snow will taper off Saturday morning.”

Pincher Creek is known as the “Wind Capital of Canada.” It’s around 100 kilometres southwest of Lethbridge.
