A student massage therapist at a Kensington clinic has been charged with sexual assault after allegedly touching a client inappropriately.

Calgary police said the victim visited the Professional Institute of Management & Technology’s massage therapy clinic, located at 1422 Kensington Rd. N.W., on March 18 for a massage.

“A student in his second year with the clinic was scheduled to complete the massage,” police said in a Thursday news release.

“Throughout the appointment, it is believed the student massage therapist inappropriately touched the victim several times, leaving her feeling uncomfortable.”

The victim approached staff at the clinic after the appointment to report the incident. The organization launched an internal investigation.

The incident was then reported to police.

Following the investigation, the student massage therapist, who worked at the teaching clinic from January 2024 to March 2025, was charged.

On Monday, police charged Harshdeep Singh, 21, with one count of sexual assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 23.

“In Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault. Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it, even if many years have passed since the incident,” police said.
