The Town of Coaldale’s new civic plaza is officially open.
The town held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday afternoon.
The space will host a variety of events including festivals and markets, along with increasing parking for businesses along Main Street.
The town says the new plaza is more than a gathering space, as it serves as the community’s “living room” and is designed to bring residents together across all seasons.
“The Town of Coaldale is very well known for its pride in community and this is another opportunity for us to showcase what we have available for our residents,” Mayor Jack van Rijn said.
“It’s great for family events--the skating has been very popular since being open--and we’re looking forward to having many festivals here throughout the year.”
The civic plaza is located behind the town office and Coaldale Public Library.
