Two organizations in Lethbridge say 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for events in the southern Alberta city.

Tourism Lethbridge and the Lethbridge and District Exhibition say they have made significant strides in securing major events for the city.

By partnering, the two say it is now possible to attract 500-plus-attendee conferences that maximize the capacity of the Agri-Food Hub and Trade Centre and surrounding venues.

Both organizations have been marketing to event planners in all industries across the country, with the hope of attracting more events to the city.

“Because this is a long-term effort, we’re currently in the relationship-building stage. We’re doing a lot of site tours where we actually bring meeting planners into the city and showcase what Lethbridge has to offer because we know its a destination-first approach,” said Dominika Wojcik, senior director of communications for Tourism Lethbridge.

“A lot of planners today aren’t just looking for venue space, they’re looking for so much more. They’re looking at what else that city has to offer and they’re also looking for those unique experiences and we know Lethbridge can offer that to them.”

One of the events the organizations have secured is the Government Finance Officers Association, Alberta conference in June.
