We continue to enjoy above seasonal temperatures to kick of the new week but it comes at the cost of some gusty winds later today.

Monday will start off with some partly cloudy conditions over the city and calm winds out of the northeast.
Later, those winds will transition out of the west and pick up momentum too with speeds of 30 to 50 km/h. Those strong winds will help clear the sky and warm us up to a high of 12 C.

Right now, Calgary is situated right along the jet stream, which is fueling the wind speeds, but this same jet stream is also steering the direction of an atmospheric river hitting the West Coast.
As it stands right now, a lot of that moisture from this system falls before it makes it over the Rockies.
But, as the jet stream lifts into a high pressure ridge on Tuesday, we could see more clouds and a 40 per cent chance of rain.
Temperatures will hold above seasonal though with a high of 13 C on tap for Tuesday.

Sunshine returns on Wednesday and is looking to be our last day of highs in the low teens.
By Thursday, cooler air will work its way back into the region and with it, the chance for more on and off showers heading into the weekend.
