No this is not an April Fool’s joke – more snow is expected in the forecast this week.
In fact, Calgary could see wet snow fall over the city as early as this afternoon during the rush hour commute home.

For the last couple of days, our weather has been coming from the southwest and that will continue to be the case for the morning hours with a clearing sky.
By midday, we get a brief blast of sunshine which will help get our temperatures up to 8 C for the high today, but then we start to take a turn.

An upper low pressure system hovering over the N.W.T. will start to push deeper south, pushing in cold air from the north at 20 to 40 km/h.
It will also set the stage for more snow to move in to southern Alberta as well, but with the positive afternoon temperatures, it will fall first as rain and then quickly transition to wet snow overnight.

Heading into Wednesday, expect flurries throughout the day as the cold air drives our temperatures down with a high of just -1 C expected.
More sustained snow is forecast to fall overnight into Thursday with a high of -2 C.
The arctic low tracks away from Alberta later on Thursday with a ridge of high pressure poised to move in just in time for the weekend.
That set up will get us back above seasonal and into double-digit temperatures by Saturday.
