Charges are pending against a woman after six idling vehicles were stolen in Airdrie and Crossfield Thursday and Friday.
Airdrie RCMP responded Thursday and Friday to reports of six stolen vehicles and a number of other related car prowlings that took place in residential areas in Airdrie and the town of Crossfield.
Each one of the stolen vehicles involved weas left idling, police said, to warm up with keys in the ignition or the push start activated.
Friday, a female driver was discovered in one of the stolen vehicles and arrested by Airdrie RCMP with assistance from the Calgary police for possession of stolen property.
Police would like to remind residents of every neighbourhood of the following tips to prevent your vehicle from getting stolen:
Use a remote starter or stay in the vehicle as it warms up.
Never leave keys in the vehicle.
Remember that push-button-equipped vehicles can still be driven without the key present.
