Two people were arrested and multiple guns, tactical gear and a stolen car were seized by Mounties in Maskwacis.
RCMP said officers tried to stop a vehicle on Louis Bull First Nations on Saturday when the driver sped away. The vehicle was later abandoned, with the people inside seen running into a home in the area.
A search of the home and the vehicle yielded five guns, magazines and ammunition, military-style attack vests and a stolen vehicle.
A man, 28, and a woman, 19, were arrested and have been charged with multiple firearm offences. The man was also charged with flight from a peace officer and driving while unauthorized.
They are both scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Maskwacis on April 15, 2025.
Mounties said they are still investigating the guns that were seized. Anyone with information is asked to contact Maskwacis RCMP at 780-585-4600.
