5 of the most expensive homes for sale in Strathcona County in July 2025

Instinct tells us all to go home, according to Scottish author Laura Marney, and with homes like these, those instincts are correct.

In June, CTV News Edmonton looked at some of the most expensive houses in Sherwood Park.

Of those five homes, only one listing is still up.

The cost of housing is an ever-fluctuating thing and sometimes prices don’t reflect how amazing a house truly is.

This month, we’re not just showcasing the most expensive houses, but ones that have that “wow” factor you would expect from homes that cost upwards of $1 million.

Some people might be happy with a simple house with a few thousand square feet and several-dozen acres, and those are available, but they aren’t the most fun to look at.

First, some data for Strathcona County:

In June, there were 57 residential unit sales in the county, 53 of those were detached houses, according to the Realtors Association of Edmonton (RAE).

There were 70 new listings and the average price was $927,494.

These numbers compare to 2,877 units sold, 4,215 new listings and an average price of $464,955 in the greater Edmonton area.

“We’re starting to see signs of a slowdown in some categories—particularly semi-detached and row/townhomes, where sales dipped and time on market increased,” said RAE board chair Darlene Reid in the monthly statistics report.

“That said, with inventory growing and strong listing activity, the Greater Edmonton Area continues to offer opportunity for both buyers and sellers as we head into the second half of the year.”

Here are some of the most expensive, and interesting, houses for sale in Strathcona County, according to realtor.ca.

5 - $1.22M bungalow with an outdoor hockey rink

Starting off appropriately in greater oil country is this 2,754-square-foot walkout bungalow in Aspen Woods Estates.

Inside, the house has four bedrooms and bathrooms and a large kitchen with double wall ovens.

In the basement there is a media/theatre room, gym, wet bar and gun/cold storage room.

The “wow” in this home is the complete outdoor hockey rink and zamboni. In photos, the boarded rink appears to be about as long, or longer, than the house.

The backyard also has what appears to be a small stormwater pond.

The home is located at 53025 Rge Rd. 223 and the listing has been up for 37 days.

4 - $1.49M home with an indoor riding arena

Even a horse might hesitate to say “nay” to this 2,757-square-foot home.

The large, open-concept kitchen and dining area look out over the 40-acre property.

The home has three bedrooms and bathrooms, with a large recreation room upstairs, but the real draw is outside.

Horse enthusiasts will be interested in this property for the six-stall barn, two pastures and an indoor riding arena.

A pond also sits behind the arena.

The home is located at 21031 Twp Rd. 530 and the listing has been up for 52 days.

3 - $1.49M home with a 4-season solarium

This 4,500-square-foot home is a place intended to plant down roots, in a more literal sense.

The listing describes the home as an Italian villa-style custom home with high ceilings, plenty of windows and five bedrooms and bathrooms.

The master bedroom’s en suite also has a sauna.

This time, the most interesting feature of the home is the attached four-season solarium, featuring an abundance of plant life in the listing.

The 3.9-acre property has a basketball court which can also double as a pickleball court.

The home is located at 122 52319 Rge Rd. 231 and the listing has been up for 10 days.

2 - $1.7M home with an indoor pool

This 3,334-square-foot home in Windsor Estates is a place where you can really float away and relax, though you won’t float too far.

Starting outside this time, the large stone patio has a built-in gas BBQ and plenty of trees.

Inside, there is the usual large kitchen, along with four bedrooms, five bathrooms and a wet bar.

What really makes a splash in this home is the indoor pool, with a space for a hot tub as well.

There is also a workshop and a triple-car garage.

The home is located at 25 52258 Rge Rd. 231 and the listing has been up for 120 days.

1 - $2.24M home with a library and indoor gymnasium

The wine room, with enough space for a tasting table setup, and indoor hockey room nearly put this Daly Drive home at the top of the list.

Instead, this 6,003-square-foot home in Barry Hill gets to write the ending.

The home has a gourmet kitchen, six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

The heated basement also has a separate kitchen, a theatre room and a rec room.

The library is one of the highlights of the 2004 build, with 12-foot ceilings and a gas fireplace.

For exercising the body after the mind, there is a workout room and a separate gymnasium, with court flooring for a variety of sports.
