Two people were arrested after police seized drugs and guns in a Fort McMurray home last month.
Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) began their investigation in the fall and made the arrests on Jan. 23.

Wood Buffalo RCMP helped ALERT seize the following items from a home in the Thickwood Heights neighbourhood:
• four illegal rifles;
• two handguns;
• two semi-automatic rifles;
• a shotgun;
• large amounts of ammunition; and
• an illegal Kevlar helmet.
Police also seized around $20,000 worth of drugs from the home, including:
• 160 grams of cocaine;
• 247 grams of psilocybin mushrooms; and
• 1,260 grams of what police believe is cannabis edibles.
Both men are 45 years old. One was charged with possession of drugs and multiple firearms-related offences and the other with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
They were both released from custody and will appear in court on Feb. 19 and 25, respectively.
