A driver in northern Alberta was ticketed after police say they were clocked going 206 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

Mounties issued the ticket on Tuesday on Highway 2 in Big Lakes County.

The driver was given a mandatory court date for exceeding the maximum highway speed and driving carelessly.

Police are reminding drivers there is no excuse for speeding.
