A 16-year-old in northern Alberta was arrested in connection to threats directed at a school days before students returned for the year. A student was reportedly threatening to shoot students on the first day of school in Manning, Alta., according to a Tuesday release from Mounties. RCMP executed a search warrant at a local residence on Tuesday, six days into their investigation, and seized seven firearms. Should the Crown approve, the 16-year-old will be charged with uttering threats. Sgt. Gavin Ool with Manning RCMP said officers immediately sought the assistance of the school and board for the investigation and a review of school safety measures.
