An exhibition displaying the works of one of the most influential street artists is making its Edmonton debut next month. The Art of Banksy Without Limits will feature more than 200 art pieces from the British-born graffiti artist including certified originals, prints, photos, lithographs, sculptures and a video installation. • Download our app to get Edmonton alerts on your device Guests can expect to see iconic recreations of the artist’s work including Flower Thrower, Kissing Coppers, and the sculptures titled Phone Booth. The international exhibition has made stops in Europe, the United States, South America, Asia and Australia. “This popular, influential exhibit is a must see for Banksy fans and art enthusiasts alike that brings British street art to our downtown,” said Edmonton Explore’s CEO and president Traci Bednard in a news release. “Edmonton has a rich and vibrant arts community and we’re excited to see the exhibit make a stop in Edmonton’s Arts District,” she added. Dedicated rooms will be on-site to further explore Banksy’s art, including an Infinity Room that immerses guests using mirrors, a simulation of Banksy’s largest art piece known as Dismaland, a hologram installation, murals of the artist’s work and the Louise Michel installation. The Edmonton stop will feature a Ukraine display that showcases Banksy’s contributions to the Russia-Ukraine war, where guests can make donations to support Ukraine. Attendees can get in the spirit of the anonymous artist by spray-painting their own t-shirts with a small donation to the Edmonton Bissell Centre. Tickets will cost $23 and will be made available to purchase online Friday. The event will be located at Edmonton City Centre at 10025 102A Ave. starting Oct. 17 and will run until the second week of January.
