The City of Edmonton and a union local representing city workers who maintain electrical and communications equipment have reached a new collective agreement.

City council accepted the tentative agreement on Tuesday. It had been ratified by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1007 on April 11. City council’s approval completes the deal for the 150 city workers represented by the union.

The terms of the agreement that covers a three-year period from Dec. 29, 2024, to Dec. 11, 2027, include a four-per-cent wage increase for workers in 2025, and three-per-cent increases in 2026 and 2027.

Other parts of the deal include increased shift differential pay, increased boot subsidy, increased healthcare spending account and increased weekend premium pay.
