A cyclist is dead after they were hit by a semi-truck north of Edmonton.
Police responded to the crash in the area of Highway 43 and Range Road 230, near Valleyview, around midnight.
The cyclist was riding in the middle of a westbound lane and the truck driver didn’t see them “until it was too late,” RCMP said.
The driver tried to avoid the cyclist but couldn’t, police added.
The cyclist died on scene.
Charges are not being sought against the driver.
