A southeast Edmonton restaurant was temporarily shut down due to a mouse infestation.
Alberta Health Services issued a closure order on April 22 for the Lumberjack’s Restaurant and Sportsmen’s Pub after an inspection yielded multiple violations.

According to the order, the inspector found a dead mouse, large amounts of mouse droppings, mouse holes and nesting materials in areas including storage rooms and pantries.
Other violations included storing perishable foods in coolers that weren’t cold enough, inadequate sanitization and disrepair in the kitchen and washrooms.
The owner of the restaurant was ordered to close and carry out all needed pest control, cleaning and maintenance required.
AHS rescinded the order on April 30 and granted permission for the restaurant to reopen.
