Edmonton Stingers lose to Niagara River Lions

The Edmonton Stingers lost to Niagara River Lions in a tight game Sunday.

Now four games into the 24-game season, the Stingers are third in the standings of the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s western conference with one win and three losses.

Adika Peter McNeilly, the Stingers’ assistant coach, said the team is working on playing in the moment.

“How can we win this game? And then once we finish that, then we (go onto) the next game,” said Peter-McNeilly. “We can’t look too far ahead because nothing good comes from that.”

The Lions beat the Stingers 101-99 at the Edmonton Expo Centre.

The Stingers will be travelling south for their game against the Calgary Surge May 31.
