After a brief “cooldown” Tuesday that had Edmonton slip to a high of “only” 11 C, we’re back into teen temperatures for the next few days.
PLUS...the wind is down and the sun is back. Mainly sunny this morning, then partly cloudy this afternoon with wind speeds in the 10-15 km/h range and a high near 15 C.
We’ll get a couple degrees warmer Thursday and then a high near 15 again Friday.
Some scattered showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm will develop in western AB this afternoon.
There’s a SLIGHT risk of a spotty shower pushing into the Edmonton region early this evening, but most of the city should stay dry.
The Red Deer area has a better chance of seeing an evening shower.
An area of low pressure moves into NW Alberta late Thursday night with some showers in the Peace Country.
Rain moves into the High Level to Fort McMurray area by early Friday morning. That changes over to wet snow in those regions through the day Friday.
Looking ahead to the weekend: a broad Upper Trough takes over across the province. That’ll bring some cloudier and slightly cooler conditions to most areas.
At this point, it looks like we’ll have highs near 10 C in Edmonton Saturday/Sunday with a slight chance of a shower (especially Sunday).
Temperatures should jump back into the mid to upper teens next week and the above-average temperatures are expected to continue right through the Easter weekend.
