Fake Peavey Mart websites prompt RCMP warning

Albertans are being warned of a new scam targeting online shoppers.

On Tuesday, RCMP said fraudulent websites and social media pages were posing as Peavey Mart and selling items online.

Peavey Mart, a farm and ranch retail store, announced in late January that it was closing all Canadian stores.

According to RCMP, Peavey Mart does not operate an online store.

Albertans are warned to be cautious when shopping online and always verify website addresses before providing personal or financial information.
