Edmonton ice cream shop Kind Ice Cream announced on its Instagram page that it will be giving away free kid-sized scoops of ice cream on a cone or in a cup at all of their locations for people who voted in the federal election.
Made by Marcus, an Albertan ice cream chain, has jumped on board offering a kid’s scoop at all of their shops to voters for placing their ballot.
Both ice cream shops ask that voters provide a selfie outside of a polling station to get their treat on election day. Election workers are also encouraged to snag a free kid’s scoop on Tuesday.
It’s not just free ice cream companies are offering – Lime will also have an election day promotion.
The e-scooter company is offering riders two free 30-minute scooter rides to help voters get to and from polling stations by using the promo code WECANVOTE in the Lime app.
The promotion is a partnership between Lime and the Apathy is Boring charity group to remove transportation barriers among young voters.
“We believe in encouraging participation in democracy and are proud to offer Canadians a free ride to and from their polling place,” said Sonia Kandola, the senior director of government relations at Lime, in a Tuesday news release.
“With so many key issues at stake, it’s especially important for young voters to have their voices heard. We know transportation can be a barrier, and we’re committed to helping remove it,” she added.
Lime is offering the promotion wherever they operate in Canada, including cities in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and Ontario.
Canadians can cast their vote in the 2025 Federal Election on Monday.
