Police have identified a woman who was recently found dead on the shore of the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton.
Police say 43-year-old Ashley Burke was found dead on a riverbank east of the Quesnell Bridge near Whitemud park on Monday at about 4:45 p.m.

An autopsy on Thursday found her death was a homicide. Police are not sharing the cause of death for investigative purposes.
Burke had recently been living in Edmonton, but police said she also had ties to Spruce Grove.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who spoke with her between Dec. 27 and 30.
