A bit cooler than anticipated this morning, but we’re still expecting temperatures to climb quickly through the day.
We should get to the -8 C range by midday and up around 1 C this afternoon in Edmonton.
The warm front went through early this morning bringing some clouds and even a few flurries to areas east and northeast of the city.
Those clouds should clear out through the morning and we’ll get back under some sun for this afternoon.
Once we get into the warmer air, it’ll stick around through the rest of the month and into early March.
There’s no sign of a return to colder temperatures between now and March 7. So, we’ll hover around the 2 to 7 C range for daytime highs through the next week to 10 days.
There ARE a couple potential pockets of precipitation, but no heavy snow. Saturday morning and Monday morning both have a slight risk of some freezing rain or rain/snow mix in the Edmonton region.
At this point, neither event appears to overly likely for Edmonton.
But...it’s worth keeping an eye on...especially if you have travel plans that take you north of Edmonton Saturday morning.
Wet snow looks probably for the Peace Country early Saturday morning and then that’ll move in the Cold Lake/Fort McMurray areas by midday Saturday.
