Man charged after $70K worth of drugs seized in Lloydminster

A suspected drug dealer in Lloydminster has been charged.

Police executed a search warrant at an apartment on 50 Avenue on June 4, finding about $70,000 worth of drugs, including 600 grams of fentanyl, cash, replica firearms and a stun gun.

The seizure is one of the larger fentanyl seizures made in the border city, according to Insp. Brad Lundeen with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) agency.

A 47-year-old man faces several drugs and weapons charges.

He is being kept in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 23.

ALERT said the June seizure is unrelated to a 500-gram fentanyl seizure in April.
