Man dead in two-vehicle highway crash east of Morinville

A two-vehicle crash near Morinville Monday afternoon resulted in the death of one of the drivers.

An Edmonton man is dead after two vehicles collided on Monday at a highway intersection east of Morinville.

RCMP said in a Tuesday evening media release the 44-year-old man was driving on Highway 28 northbound at Highway 642 when he entered the oncoming lane and collided with a semi-truck.

He died at the scene, police said.

The intersection eight kilometres east of Morinville was closed for several hours.
