If you’ve been meaning to drop in at McDavid’s in south Edmonton but haven’t had the chance, you’ve got a few extra days to do it.
On Feb. 28, the Calgary Trail McDonald’s rebranded to celebrate Connor McDavid’s overtime goal in the final of the 4 Nations Face-Off.
“Such a fun way to celebrate him and celebrate our team,” said Tamara, an Oilers fan who stopped by Thursday afternoon.
The change was originally supposed to only last a week, ending on Friday.
Due to the popularity of the McDavid’s rebranding, the franchise decided to extend it until Sunday.
The change was originally part of a promise that if the Oilers brought home the Stanley Cup in 2024, an Edmonton restaurant would rebrand temporarily.
The Oilers lost to the Panthers in Game 7 of the cup series, but McDavid’s overtime goal for Canada against the U.S. in February prompted the rebranding to go ahead.
