The owner of another Edmonton antique mall has bought the Old Strathcona Antique Mall (OSAM), its owners announced on Tuesday.

The new owner Mykel Lewsaw owns Rocky Mountain Antique Mall, a few blocks to the south on Gateway Boulevard.

“We have gotten to know Mykel much better over the past few weeks and know that he understands the unique space that OSAM holds in the hearts of Edmontonians,” wrote the mother-and-daughter owners, Betty and Bobbi Weibel, in an Instagram post.

“Mykel recognizes that these two antique malls are each unique in their own way, attracting (mainly) different clientele and he intends to continue this diversity moving forward.”

The Weibel women have run the Old Strathcona Antique Mall for 16 years, although it was established in 1997.

The sale details were not made public.
