A southside weekend institution is about to expand its days of operation.
The Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market, which has been operating Saturdays out of the former bus barns off Gateway Boulevard at 83 Avenue for more than 40 years, is poised to open on Sundays as well.
The farmers’ market told CTV News Edmonton it will now be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays starting May 4 in addition to its regular Saturday hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The move comes as the City of Edmonton on Sunday took over operation of the long-time parking lot across Gateway Boulevard that the market had been leasing from the city.
